Welcome to Radical Survivalism!
We have a lot of ground to cover, so come cover it with us! By taking part in our on-line community, we hope to challenge the way you think so that you can gain a new and broader perspective on how you prioritize your life. We have learned so much about survival, but the more we learn, the ‘to-learn’ list just gets longer.
In talking to family and friends, and researching information, we have learned that the term “survival” means very different things to different people. In recently speaking to my senior citizen father, I remarked that my 50-something sis must be getting old! She had told me that if she perished in a tsunami, she would speak to me in another life. This led us to believe that she was happy with what she had accomplished and was at peace with whatever life handed her. We think our ‘elders’ may have a different perspective from our ‘youngers’ in terms of how they define their sense of survival, and what their requirements may be. A family of five will face very different challenges than a single person.
The core philosophy of survivalism is conceptualizing what you feel your needs may be for a week, a month, or longer, and how to act on that knowledge with maximum effect. Many believe that buying more than you need for a couple of days is too much. Others store emergency supplies, food and water for extreme circumstances, never knowing when that extreme circumstance is just around the corner.
Our hope is that we can inform, educate, and create a new way of looking at life so as to be productive, be healthy (mentally and physically,) be safe, and be prepared. To use the old saying, “plan for the worst, hope for the best.” Now that we know the worst or best are relative terms, discover your personal meaning of survival and how to get there. So join us here, form your own doctrine, system or theory, and find out what survivalism means to you.
