I frequently hear ‘important’ people like Michael Moore say that the country is not broke. Then I have one question for Mr. Moore and those who believe in this heresy: if we are not broke, then why the need to raise the debt ceiling? Once again, the country’s credit card is maxed out. Our interest rate is so large on that debt, that I cannot find that many zeroes on this keyboard.

According to Senator Mark Warner, Virginia “…you get close to that debt limit and you could actually scare the bond markets…” To see the interview, click here. Well, I don’t know what “that close” means, but as of yesterday (April 16) we are scarcely a month away from reaching the limit.
